Well it’s Saturday night and West End Live is half way through. There were some great shows on today in Leicester Square all to promote the West End and provide some free entertainment for the London crowd at the same time. Highlights sp far have been a good three song set from a big cast from We Will Rock You , always a high energy show, the lovely duet from The King And I and this performance from Jodie Prenger as Nancy from Oliver! who sang as if she thought she needed to win I’d do Anything all over again! Click here to view the embedded video. If you keep an eye on the Theatre Breaks youtube stream you’ll catch a glimpse of Patina Miller and sisters from Sister Act and also Jerry Springer in Chicago!

Luxury hotel and theatre deals http://www.theatrebreaksblog.co.uk/items/view/756/luxury-hotel-and-theatre-deals

Sometimes, especially if you’ve a busy schedule taking a whole weekend away from work is difficult. So you take the laptop with you and hope for good hotel broadband… Book a 5* Hotel and get a free upgrade Friday, Saturday and Sunday overnight stays you can book the 5* Andaz Hotel by Hyatt and receive a free upgrade to a King size room. The Andaz is a mix of Victorian opulence and state-of-the-art technology. The Andaz was the old Great Eastern building near Liverpool St station and it’s been very stylishly updated. Andaz by Hyat hotel deals Your upgraded King room is 29-sq.-metre. It features a plush king bed, oversized work desk and bath with ecologically friendly shower, fast-fill tub and hot towel rail, air conditioning, and a gorgeous modern design. Enjoy complimentary amenities such as healthy mini-bar, local phone calls, wired and wireless Internet access, iPod dock and the luxury of yukata robes. You might think this sort of luxury would be horribly expensive and normally you’d be right! To stay one Friday night in June at full price would cost you £270! But book it as a hotel deal as part of a theatre break and prices start from just £92 per person including your show ticket (one night stay plus tickets for Woman in Black - many other great shows and musicals also available ) I often see this hotel as I walk out from Liverpool St Station and it looks so inviting. It would be a great place to stay for a weekend theatre break and what with the desk and the great connectivity one of you might even get some work done! Personally, if I stayed Saturday night I’d be off down to the nearby Columbia Rd Flower Market next morning. You can often find me there on summer Sunday mornings browsing through all the gorgeous shabby chic garden accessories, drinking in the atmosphere (and the great coffee!) and even buying the occasional plant. If I can’t stagger down to the flower market there’s always the very trendy, recently totally refurbished Spitalfields Market just across the road from Liverpool St Station. It’s lovely down there on a Sunday morning with a real buzz, lots of unique craft and fashion, some ‘antique’ or vintage stalls and some interesting shops. There are some nice places to lunch there too. Of course you might never make it out of the luxury of that wonderful king sized room… and that’s good too! ** Book your 5* upgraded hotel and theatre deal **

We Will Rock You New Year Record Breaker ** Book We Will Rock You Theatre Breaks **

We Will Rock You has already turned 2009 into a record breaking New Year. It achieved the highest number of paid admissions in one week for any West End show last year. More than 20,000 tickets were bought in the six days following the 29th of December. Brian May to Appear in We Will Rock You! Brian May, one of the co-creators of We Will Rock You will be visiting the show on Saturday the 10th of January. On his site brianmay.com May says: ‘I usually try to keep it casual, because really it’s all about me bonding with the cast and band and crew, and sharing a little bit of their load … but I always get stick from people saying “You didn’t tell us you were going to be there!” So this time, I’ll say it quietly but clearly … I WILL be there Saturday 10th, and I will be making a small appearance (or is it “apparition”?) in the matinee and evening shows. It’s not an advertised part of the show - it’s just a fun bonus, which happens about once a year … but it’s always a blast. It will be doubly exciting this time, since the last time I tried it, the lift got stuck, and I ended up in a very dark smoky cage under the stage for the whole of the solo in Bohemian Rhapsody. So we will be trying not to repeat that effect !!!’ ‘This Saturday is WWRY Party day … we will be celebrating between shows, and afterwards, entering our 8th year of Rocking London in 2009, with The Greatest Show In Town !!! See ya there … let’s rock into the New Year.’ Wish I had tickets for tomorrow’s show!! We had a real blast when we went to see We Will Rock You last year. It’s definitely on my list to re-visit. Ideally I’d like to see Rachel Tucker’s occasional Scaramouche but seeing Brian May in the production would be good too! We Will Rock You Special Offer It’s worth mentioning that there are some very special offers available at the moment for We Will Rock You theatre breaks, with a free hotel included in the £60 per person ticket price for weekday performances between now and 26 March 2009 ** Free Hotel Offer **
