A Little Night Music, Sondhiem’s classic musical transfers to the Garrick Theatre in March after a sell out run at the Mernier Chocolate Factory. The show will preview from March 28, with press night on April 7 and is booking until July 25. Tickets are sure to be snapped up quickly as the show has been sold out for sometime. A Little Night Music The Story of A Little Night Music Based on Ingmar Bergman’s film Smiles of a Summer Night, A Little Night Music is set in turn-of-the-century Sweden. The show has been described as ” a fairy tale for adults”. Middle-aged Fredrik Egerman brings his 18-year-old bride Anne to a play starring his former mistress, DesirĂ©e Armfeldt. Soon, Fredrik and DesirĂ©e resume their romance, incurring the wrath of her current lover, a pompous Count. The couples, various, all come together at a country estate weekend party. And there, under the summer night, things are set to right as a kind of midsummer magic works on them all. The Songs of A Little Night Music So many Sondhiem classics that it’s hard to pick out just one or two. Send in the Clowns, of course, The Miller’s Son, A Weekend in the Country and many others. The Cast of A Little Night Music The cast includes Hannah Waddingham, Maureen Lipman, Grace Link, Alexander Hanson, Kelly Price and Jessie Buckley. A Little Night Music is directed by Trevor Nunn.
